The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The Kingdom of England dates back to the 10th century. Wales became a full and equal part of the Kingdom of England in 1535 (Laws in Wales Acts 1535 and 1542 – this was the same year that King Henry VIII forced the creation of The Statute of Uses).

The history of the United Kingdom as a unified sovereign state began in 1707 with the political union of the kingdoms of England and Scotland, into a united kingdom called Great Britain (Treaty of Union 1706 & Acts of Union 1707 – this was the same year that Queen Anne wrote the monarchy statute 6 ANN Ch 18 which footnotes 19 Car 2 AKA the The Cestui Que Vis Trust 1666).

This United Kingdom of Great Britain later merged in 1801 with the Kingdom of Ireland to form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (this was enacted by The Act of Union 1800/1). Five-sixths of Ireland seceded from the UK in 1922, leaving the present formulation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (This agreement was called Articles of Agreement for a Treaty Between Great Britain and Ireland).

Her Majestys government as we know it today has various positions, some of these positions are 'appointed' by the Monarch, like the 9 Great officers of state.
